As the weather is starting to heat up and the sundresses start to come out, what more do you need than Teri Tobin‘s interpolation of a Roberta Flack classic? “The One”. A warm, sultry and sexy vibe that you may expect from the Soulstress; riding an afro-soul beat that makes you want to move. Whether you have plans to chill on a yacht, at the pool or at a lounge, this song will definitely set the mood.

“This is the first time I’ve done a cover tune so I wanted to make sure that I put my stamp on it without going too far from the original masterpiece. Roberta Flack and Donny Hathaway were the reason I was so drawn to attend Howard University, so it holds a special place for me to cover one of her songs.”

Co-written by the late Ralph McDonald, the late William Salter and William Eaton. Produced by Shawn Hibbler ( Mary J Blige, Kindred The Family Soul, Mike Phillips, Darius Rucker), who produced "Love Happens (Truth Is) and the title track for Forerver. This collaboration will surely be a welcomed addition to Teri’s multi-layered catalog. Teri is prepping to tour the US and Internationally with more new music in tow and we hope you’re ready. “The One” will appear on Teri Tobin’s highly anticipated studio album, “Forever” to be released in 2022.
